The Van
--

This
is “Daisy”, my 2020 Ram Promaster 1500 with
raised roof and 136" wheel base. Not many vans for sale in the
Blaine/Bellingham area, so I did my
van shopping in the Seattle area. The average van I looked at tended to
be
a little beat-up by the previous owner’s business (plumbing, painting,
electrical, etc). I was surprised how few used vans there were with
cruise control. This
van was a rental van in the Portland area before a used car dealership
bought
it and then sold it to me. It was in great shape and had great tires.
Sold! My
landlord let me use a 5x10 room in the back of our apartment building
as a shop. So, I got to work.

All ready to be converted into a camper van (some assembly required).

I used Microsoft Visio to rough out some possible designs.

I
also use Visio to figure out the gory construction details for certain
areas of the van. These are some sketches of a possible galley area.
